It was love at first sight… with our wedding venue that is! Would you believe that Wyndridge Farm was the ONLY wedding venue we looked at!? We had heard about it through a family friend and after seeing pictures, I knew it was THE ONE. I mean look at that chapel! We took one tour of the venue and after talking it over with my parents (and watching another couple get a tour and freaking out because what if they take the date we want!!?) we quickly put a deposit down that afternoon.
Wyndridge Farm is located in Dallastown, PA, which makes it an easy location for anyone living in southern PA or Maryland. It’s a restaurant and brewery that also hosts weddings and special events!
P.S. They book up QUICKLY! I got engaged in June 2018 and starting looking at places in July 2018. When I got in contact with Wyndridge, they only had Fridays and Sundays left for 2019! Luckily, we were able to snag one of the last Fridays available. Plus you get a discount for having it on a Friday!
The Bridal Suite & Pub Room
A really nice feature about Wyndridge Farm is the ability for the wedding party to get ready at the venue. They have a bridal suite for the girls and the guys are able to use the pub room. Both rooms have these really pretty stonewalls which make the perfect backdrop for those getting ready photos. The bridal suite is able to accommodate for hair and makeup setup. It was so nice to head to the venue early in the morning and not have to worry! Wyndridge does offer lunch catering for your wedding party, so no one is hangry!! Very important!! We ordered a bunch of sandwiches and sliders for everyone to share.
We also hosted our rehearsal dinner at Wyndridge in the downstairs pub room. When I started doing research for rehearsal dinners, there weren’t very many options and it seemed easiest to have it right at Wyndridge, where we would already be for the actual rehearsal. We had around 30 people and had a buffet style dinner that consisted of pizza, mac n cheese, and french fries…. all my favorite things!
The Chapel – Ceremony Location
100% the chapel was the selling point for me to have my wedding at Wyndridge. I knew I wanted to have the wedding ceremony outside, and this provided the perfect backdrop. Plenty of other vendors had barns for the reception but none of them had anything that compared to the outdoor chapel. You can choose to have the ceremony indoors if you wish, and the barn makes a great backup plan in case it rains…but thank goodness it didn’t!
Outside Patio – Cocktail Hour
Cocktail hour (weather permitting) is held outside on the back patio. I can’t talk much about this part of the wedding because the bridal party was actually downstairs in the pub room for cocktail hour. We did get to eat some of the food and it was delicious! The food for the cocktail hour comes with veggies & dip and a cheese plate, and then you get to pick some additional appetizers. We choose the duchess potato croquette with manchego cheese, spanakopita triangles with aged feta cheese, grilled vegetable pizzettes and sweet-n-sour meatballs.
The Barn – Reception Location
The Barn is actually part of the restaurant at Wyndridge when they don’t have any weddings going on, but it makes for the perfect reception area! It’s two stories, so you can accommodate a large number of guests or you can use the space for your DJ, like we did. We only had around 110 guests, so we were able to fit everyone on the first floor. The tables & chairs were exactly the look I was going for (rustic but not too rustic and nothing that screams farm or barn). LOL They do offer linen rentals, if you want to rent table runners or table cloths, but I opted to show off the wood and just decorated with greenery!
Each couple will be assigned a day of coordinator and they set up everything for you, which was SUPER nice! I was a little nervous (because I’m OCD) that things wouldn’t be exactly like I wanted them, but honestly everything turned out perfect! It helped that I had no way of getting upstairs to the reception area before the wedding without risking Walt seeing me…so I had no choice. Plus, I had my mom to run around and make sure everything was looking good! (Thanks Mom!)
Food & Drinks – The Good Stuff
Ok, so now one of the most important parts of a wedding… the food & drinks!! Not going to lie, I would’ve been happy with chicken nuggets and fries, but we needed to class it up a little bit! We had originally thought we would be doing a buffet style dinner but then opted to go for the plated dinner, based on the meal options. Wyndridge has a good amount of options and they let you mix and match from different menus, to help you get what you’re looking for. We ended up going with a caprese salad & the beef or turkey option, as we wanted something different than the usual chicken. For sides we choose green beans and the twice-baked potato (which was delicious!) Wyndridge is known for their yummy food, so it was no surprise everyone loved the food! Oh and see that little dessert looking thing in the middle below… it was a sorbet for the Intermezzo. Not going to lie, I had to google what Intermezzo meant, but apparently its a dish to cleanse the palette…. fancy I know.
As for the drinks, it really didn’t matter to me, as I’m not much of a drinker. Give me a Diet Coke, and I’m quite content! (Although I did request their berry sangria just for the bride, as it’s my favorite drink of theirs.) We had decided based on price and for the sake of the wedding itself, to only serve beer, cider and wine (no liquor). Plus, Wyndridge’s beers are craft beers so they have a high alcohol content. I left the drink choices up to Walt and both our parents who came to the tastings with us. You get to pick two beers, two ciders and then they offer three wines. We ended up with the Ten Point Ale, Infinite Meadows IPA, Original Cider, Cranberry Cider & then the Rose, Chardonnay, and Red Blend for the wines.
As for the desserts, Wyndridge does offer them, but we decided to get ours from a local bakery called Browns Orchards. I’ll write all about them in an upcoming post about all my wedding vendors, but for now, I’ll just tell you they were AMAZING and I’m soooo looking forward to eating our top tier cake on our first anniversary.
Also, our photographer, Megan Kelsey Photography, took all of these amazing photos. I’ll also write more about her in my wedding vendor post but she is super sweet and helpful and if you’re looking for a photographer…. contact her!
I think that should pretty much cover everything about our wonderful wedding venue! If you’re a bride looking for a barn/rustic or really just any venue in general, you should totally check out Wyndridge Farm! Everyone is super nice and helpful and I would 10/10 recommend it as a venue! If I forgot to cover something or you have questions, just comment below!
